THE GLORY OF THE MISTAKE

I think he told Montag that it is OK for him to make mistakes because its a way for him to improve and be better as well as learning what he did wrong so he won't do it again. We can use mistakes to encourage us because since we already went through it once, the other times won't be so bad because you won't repeat what you did the first time and you can express yourself better at what you are doing.

A CASE FOR WAR?

I think that people see the U.S as a country where everyone is rich and doesn't work a day in their life. The only people working are foreigners that aren't really important. Also, we are a powerful nation with a lot of influence but also hated by others because of the amount of power that is in the U.S. I think that people attack the U.S perhaps because they want the kind of liberty and freedom that we are given in their country. Because they can't really have it honestly, they attack us as a way of "choice" from the attackers.

FAILING TO PLAN IS PLANNING TO FAIL

Montag and Faber plan to hide books in firefighters houses so that they can be caught and they will burn down their houses. I think this plan could go both ways, either it'll work,  or they will get caught, yet I am open minded to anything that will happen. Its pretty exciting to me.

SOMETIMES YOU NEED A PROFESSOR

Montag wants to get in touch with Faber because he got curious on the power of books and he wanted to think with his own brain. He reaches out to Faber to get answers to his questions that are floating about in his mind.

IS IT JUST ABOUT THE JOB?

If I would have to do something that would hurt other people, I wouldn't be able to live with the guilt. I am not one to hurt others or do something just to hurt someone's feelings. I live by the "treat others the way you want to be treated" as well as just being kind to everyone. I don't like negativity or hate because that just tears people apart and I don't like that. I would rather be on good terms with everyone else than to have a really good paycheck knowing I hurt someone.

THIS CAT IS CURIOUS

I think that curiosity comes from both out personality and culture and also how we see things. Like the example given of "curiosity killed the cat" and eating from the forbidden tree, we are always curious. It's just part of our daily things of being human. If we weren't curious, then we wouldn't really be where we are at today as a human race. If people weren't curious to explore the "new world" after Columbus, the U.S perhaps wouldn't have existed like it does now. Curiosity is what led to technology and how we live now.

MY INNER HAPPY

I think that the internal things that can make us happy are inner peace within ourselves. Personally, I don't need materialistic things to be happy if I am happy with myself I have everything I need. Me being healthy, and safe, as well as my family and loved ones is what I cherish most. Much hasn't really changed for me since the pandemic started and my family as well as I are doing just fine at home. :)

ANTI-INTELLECTUALISM IN AMERICA

People in our culture don't think that intelligence is a super power because they can just literally pay someone to do something for them. I think that it doesn't get the attention it deserves because there are so many other "cool" things happening or being invented, BUT they don't realize that INTELLIGENT people are the ones that made it happen. Its more of a "oh your intelligent? okay make this for me" type of feel and that is why I think that culture doesn't see intelligence as a superpower.

UNITED WE STAND?

I think that independence is important when a person is mature enough to look after themselves and be responsible for their own actions. Interdependence is important because it is needed to get things moving. For example, there is interdependence between a manager and his/her employees to get the job done.

BOOKS AND NEW TECH.

For some people, they think that technology is the greatest and makes everything easier, and yes it does but it also takes away the feeling of certain things. For example, when you hold a book, the feeling of the pages under your finger tips and you manually turning the pages instead of just pressing a button that does it for you. Also, if you get very lazy to read, online you can just press a button and it'll start to read it to you. Books on the other hand, when you get tired, you put it down and can come back to it later, you don't get these notification distractions from social media popping up and you can just enjoy it better. Personally I enjoy books better than technology.

IS IT ME?

I think that a least a good amount of our behavior comes from our personality because its just who we are on a daily. If a person isn't really nice or doesn't follow directions, at times their behavior reflects it by talking back or being rude to others. Sometimes culture is a huge influence on some people since at home that is how they are treated or that is how they grew up and they think that the way that they act is okay and there is nothing wrong.

WHY I WORK

Something that I care about enough to continue to work is to keep making my parents proud as they see my accomplishments and how far I have gotten in life. I wouldn't want to let them down and for them to think that their sacrifice in coming to this land and leaving theirs, wasn't worth it.

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING NOW ?

I think that Clarisse is right when she says that schools are just videos of online lessons because that is how we are doing things now. Students go online, watch a few videos to learn something and then do some assignments in hopes that they are doing it right. I think that this will slowly lead our society to be even less social than what we are now. Currently if people want to express their ideas or rant, they have to put it online for everyone to know about it instead of just talking it out with somebody like face to face.

THE RIGHT TO READ

If the president of the United States ended up outlawing the right to read, it would be really devastating for everyone. For one, it would drastically affect schools since what we do on a daily there is read. In my opinion I think that many Americans will continue to read in secret and believe that the president really gets all his information by reading so therefore he made a really wrong choice. For example, if he wants to know more about American History, he will need to read it. Reading is super important since its our way of communicating in every aspect possible whether it is through on line courses, in public, or giving presentations. Therefore, I believe that the president of the United States should not taking away the right to read.

F451 & ME

Some connections that I've had so far with the reading and my life, are that society now is slowly becoming what is being described in the book. People aren't really having conversations anymore or listening like genuinely listening to others as they speak and it is more of a "oh really?" or "that's crazy" type of conversations. As was said in the book, we are always for the most part in crowded places filled with many people, yet we at times feel alone in that situation because we aren't really mentally there. Montag for the most part has thought that he is happy, yet Clarisse comes out of no where, starts up a genuine conversation with Montag, and now he wonders if he really is happy or if he is just faking it. This happens almost on a day to day basis with many people and I think that is the reason why society is just changing slowly but surely.
